Dennis Deiter, 46, and Elizabeth Deiter, 34, both "admitted to utilizing their respective cellular telephones to view child pornography," prosecutors wrote in a release on Wednesday, July 24.
Detectives began investigating the pair after receiving a complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, authorities said. The investigation led them to the Deiters' South 12th Street home where they executed a search warrant, seizing devices that belonged to both of them, the DA's Office wrote.
A forensic analysis of the devices revealed "numerous" offending images and video files, and both were arrested at their Reading home on Wednesday, according to detectives.
Elizabeth Deiter's bail was set at $25,000, court records show. Files for her husband's case were not available on the state website as of Wednesday afternoon.
Dennis Deiter was previously convicted of child pornography charges in 2018, according to the Pennsylvania Megan's Law website. He was sentenced to six to 23 months in the Berks County Prison and has been a registered sex offender since 2021, the DA's Office added.
